Meet Austyn Mikal Mays, also known by his stage name IamSonOfMan, who is an upcoming recording artist residing in Newark, Ohio.
IamSonOfMan first began creating around 4 years ago. His initially reason for starting was simply because he was good at it. He found music to be a naturally talent of his. He started writing down lyrics and shortly began recording tracks under several different genres including R&B, Rock, Pop, and Rap.
IamSonOfMan’s most successful track to date is titled “Don Flow” which was produced by one of his friends “C-Reck”. He mentioned that they created the song in under an hour. Although this was his most successful track, his favorite is titled “No Talkin Freestyle”. There are several notable artists whom inspire him, some of which include Kanye West, Big Sean, Drake, and one of his friends @himintheflesh.
A note from the artist: “I had a mental breakdown 3 years ago and gave up my pursuit to break into the music industry. However, my love for writing songs never wavered. Seeing my friends’ success and the encouragement I had from a few people inspired me to take up this challenge once again. I am an advocate for mental health with a lot to prove”.
