Marcus Troy is an upcoming artist hailing from North Jersey.
Ever since he was young, Marcus Troy has been into poetry. He had noticed that there were a few elements missing in the Hip-Hop game, and he wanted to make a change. He started making music around 7 years ago to bring back this old feeling, however he stopped after just 2 years.
Lately he has felt another sense of inspiration to share his talent with the world. After a 5 year long break, Marcus has finally returned to the music scene. He creates music under the Hip-Hop genre, however he adds a more soulful tone as a way to differentiate himself.
His most successful track is titled “Pretty Bird” which has amassed over 500,000 streams on the SoundCloud platform. He remixed a Jhene Aiko song that caught the attention of many. Quoted in an interview, “This song meant a lot to me and every lyrics came from my heart”. Marcus is inspired by several other artists including Mick Jenkins, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and J Cole.
Marcus Troy released his new EP for 2021 recently titled “The Lost Gems EP”. He has several songs that have been vaulted for years that the people will finally be able to hear. He plans on releasing many of his vaulted songs later in the year. He has truly came far in his career and doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon.
